Kenya ETA Service

As of January 5, 2024, Kenya has replaced its traditional visa system with the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for all travelers, regardless of nationality. This digital system streamlines the entry process, enhancing efficiency and security for visitors.

Who Needs the Kenya eTA?

All foreign nationals, except for citizens of the East African Community (EAC) member states, are required to obtain an eTA before traveling to Kenya. EAC citizens can enter Kenya using a national ID card in lieu of a passport.

Types of eTA

Kenya offers various eTA categories to suit different travel purposes:

  • eTA for Tourism: For leisure travelers visiting Kenya for tourism purposes.
  • eTA for Business: For individuals traveling to Kenya for business-related activities.
  • eTA for Transit: For travelers passing through Kenya en route to another destination.
  • eTA for Digital Nomads: For remote workers wishing to live and work in Kenya temporarily.
